Brief:  To undertake the below ground drainage design for a small housing development.

The local authority and Yorkshire Water are acutely aware of the problem of increasing the amount of impermeable area draining into the existing sewer network and local water courses. Any new developments of any reasonable size will require some form of drainage system to take this into consideration. The drainage hierarchy from Building regulations gives the order of preferred discharge of surface water. The most preferred discharge is to a soak-away. This is not always practical, however in this case it was. A soak-away was therefore designed from calculations based on run off from the site. Designs of pipe sizes were also undertaken to both surface and foul systems.
